Six Months Update!

Salam peeps.

Today, we have 6 months left to our solemnization day. Lets make it 5 more months left for wedding preparations as the last one month will be the "pampering" month. Everything should be done by mid November. It's been a year preparation but we still have lots of things left to prepare such as door gifts, catering and so on.

Last Saturday my fiance and I went to Yayasan, Pusat Kesenian and Sumbangsih to look for kain jongsarat in grey silver. Alhamdulillah we found one in Sumbangsih that's ready made, else we have to custom made a new one and wait till November. We bought from Hikmah Enterprise and their shop is home-based in Kg. Lumapas. No more hassle waiting for the desired color to be made. Yay!!! We also managed to deposit Mutiara Ayu to confirm all our bookings and bought telekung for hantaran.

I think that's all for the 6 months update. Staytune for my next post. Insya-Allah I'll be sharing address and contact numbers if you're looking for "Kain Tenunan Brunei". I got their business cards while I was visiting their shops in Sumbangsih. So why not I  share it with you guys right??? =D

Till then. *toodles*

Creative Guestbook Ideas

Salam. Hello people. Long time no blog. =P Sorry.

I want to have a guestbook for my wedding reception and so I did some research. It seems that I'm loving the "VINTAGE" theme.

So here are some of the creative vintage ideas I came across:

Polaroid book. Update the traditional photo album with a fun, retro feel by placing a Polaroid camera on a table along with colored pens and have your guests take shots of themselves or each other and sign or write fun notes on the bottom of the photos. You can even string up clothes lines for guests to pin their photo creations on to jazz up the reception. Later on, you can place your favorites in a photo album-type guest book or create a framed photo collage.

Fingerprint Guestbook Love this cute idea, give your guests a large pre-printed tree on which to add their fingerprinted leaves to as well as their names. An artistic and creative alternative wedding guestbook idea that will still look fab hanging in your home as art long after the day is over.

Typewriters What a great twist on the ever popular typewriter guest book! A vintage typewriter is used to create guest notes. When the guests are done typing their note, they throw the note in the waste basket! What a unique and fun idea. Just be sure the clean up crew doesn’t really think it’s trash.

Wedding Wish Tree. Guest can fill your tree up with “wish” leaves. Great for an indoor or outdoor wedding.

Postcards in a suitcase/mailbox. Ask your guests to write their messages on post cards the collect them in a vintage suitcase. This is perfect for travel-themed weddings.

Airmail Wishes for the couples. Had guests write on cards which were then enclosed in air mail envelopes in lieu of a guestbook.

Puzzle Guestbook. Have your guests write their messages on the individual pieces then collect them in a jar or box. Later on, you and hubby can have fun putting it all together!

Jenga Tower Alternative Guestbook. A simple and no-fuss guestbook alternative! Have your guests sign Jenga blocks (and remember your guests whenever you play the game).

A Wish Wall. Have your guests tuck colorful wishes into little cardboard cubbyholes. You can then transport the whole wall for decorating your home later on

Mad Libs Inspired Guestbook. This idea will take your guests way back to their school days. These are a fun way for your guests to leave a personal yet funny message.

Unconventional Guestbook . Guests signed framed records that would be hung in the couple's home. Brides and grooms are encouraged to make their guest books personal. You'll never display a plain ole guest book, but you will hang a pair of vintage skis in your home if you're a skier or a beautiful vintage book. Get creative!

Chalkboard Message in Photobooth. Cut-out bubble shapes and coat it with chalkboard paint. Place them by your photo booth and let your guest write a short message before having their hilarious pose infront of the camera.

Photo Frame Guestbook. Celebrate your wedding day along with loving words of your friends flanked by your chosen wedding photo. Use an acid free fine point pen to protect your guest’s messages for many years.

I think that's all for now. I'll share some more next time.

Till then. =))

Hantaran Deco

Salam.

Here's another update.

For the hantaran deco, initially we opted for Ruzz Enterprise but for some reasons we changed our mind.  Alhamdulillah, my fiance and I had settled on booking the hantaran deco with Simply Sayang instead yesterday Sunday morning. Why Simply Sayang? The artificial flowers used for deco look real and most important, the price is reasonable. We also settled on the themes. For the bride, we chose sweet baby pink theme and for the groom, we chose baby blue theme. =D

We haven't finished buying the hantaran items though. But we're going to buy the items one buy one at a time. Finally, we've done most of the important bookings except deposit sanding and berbedak attires. For my side, the rest will be settled by my mum ie caterers and doorgifts.

Next things to do on my list..
1) Finish off listing down guest names
2) Do research on how to do DIY guestbook
3) Research on wedding dress design
4) Research and survey on wedding bouquets
5) Survey on family and bridesmaids' uniforms
6) Construct draft for the wedding card
7) Survey bedroom deco
8) Survey a bakery place for wedding cake
9) Register for kursus nikah
10) Research on honeymoon destinations
11) Research ideas for our pre-wed video
12) Look for kain jongsarat

I'll update again next time, insya-Allah..

Till next post love.

Tip Atasi Perut Buncit Di Kala Majlis Menjelang Tiba

"ARGGHHHH... PERUT SEMAKIN MEMBUNCIT, TEMPAHAN BAJU SUDAH DIBUAT. PENING KEPALA  MEMIKIRKAN CARA UNTUK MENGURUSKAN PERUT AGAR KELIHATAN CANTIK DI MAJLIS PERSANDINGAN NANTI. MALU UNTUK BERHADAPAN DENGAN TETAMU DI KALA PAKAIAN KELIHATAN SENDAT DAN TIDAK MUAT DI BADAN"

Salam. Hello again guys. Here's the tip I want to share. I got this from majalah buku "pengantin". Haha I know the title sounds funny but I just hope it's somewhat useful for some people that's having this kind of problem. This time I just post it in Malay ok? Hehe I'm so lazy to translate the article.

TIP ATASI PERUT BUNCIT:

Minum Jus Limau

Elakkan Minuman Sejuk Ketika Makan

Kunyah Makanan Sehingga Betul-Betul Hancur
Kunyahlah makanan anda sehingga hancur. Ini adalah peringkat pertama untuk proses pencernaan dan isyarat kepada organ untuk merembeskan jus pencernaan (enzim pankreas, asid perut dan lain-lain) untuk menerima makanan yang akan masuk.

Kombinasi Makanan

Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

Till then. =))

Sanding Attire

Salam kamu.

It's been two weeks I didn't blog anything. Sorry for the lack of updates. Only now I have something to update. Been busy contacting and meeting vendors. Not to forget busy with family functions for the past three days.

Last two weeks I went to Mutiara Ayu Bridal Boutique to have a look on the available kain songket. I met the owner Hjh Lena. She's very friendly. Initially I opted for the colour turquoise but unfortunately it's unavailable. Hjh Lena went to KL the day after I met her to look for that colour but she couldn't find one. I was a bit frustrated. Oh well, what to do.. right?

I went again to her shop last Thursday to see new kain songket she brought from her trip. I chose a few colors and designs of kain songket and asked her assistant to keep it for me till Sunday. Only yesterday I went there with my mum and fiance to finalise. After listening to Hjh Lena's advice on which songket suits us best, we finally concluded on the blue-green. It's not turquoise but close, at least.. =P

As for the design, I haven't decided yet. But I do like the idea of combining traditional and modern. We'll see. I'm going to do some research first on the designs. We will only be discussing the design with Hjh Lena early September. It's still early to do so now.

Btw, check out on my upcoming post. I'll be sharing a useful tip for the B2Bs and G2Bs out there.

PAZZION Fabulously You

Salam guys.

The title says it all!!! Yes, it's on shoes!!! I already found the "platform" shoes for my sanding. Yay! And it's peep toe. Ofcourse, it's bling bling (I just can't stay away from bling bling shoes).  Most important, it's comfy for hall reception (will be having no problem standing for longer periods of time in the shoes). I had to buy it last night since it's the last pair for my size! Huhu. I didn't want to take the risk to find another one if I didn't buy it. It's the one and only platform bling bling shoes I could ever find in Brunei. The price is also reasonable. =D

Just a short post.

Till then.

Our BWS's Three Days Experience

Salam peeps!!!

How's your weekend? Did you guys go to the Bliss Wedding Showcase that's held at the Empire Hotel? We did. We went to the BWS for three consecutive days!!!! Surprised much? Haha, I know. Till someone from one of the vendors said, "Kamu lagi? Rajin ni datang tiga hari ani" =P

In the last post, I mentioned that me and my fiance registered for a special invitation and joined the lucky draw for the B2Bs and G2Bs  On the first day, we were invited by Songket Wedding to attend the "Wedding Planning Seminar" featuring panel of guests, Zery Zamry (Malaysia Celebrity Fashion Designer), Ahim Rani (Candidsyndrome) and Farida (Certified Cake Decorator). This was held in the afternoon after Jumaat prayer. After attending the seminar, we went to see and survey what the available vendors were offering.

We came again the following night to attend for the "Lucky Draw Announcement". We're just one step closer to getting the 1OK Wedding Package Grand Price. Huhu, it's not our rezeki for that night. But guess what?? Among 15 couples, we won one out of the 4 lucky draw prizes for the B2Bs and G2Bs ie. a ticket to attend the BWS Closing Ceremony and having dinner with Aaron Aziz and his wife, Diyana Halik!!!

The Ticket

Then after the announcement we went to deposit for our pelamins. Our hall pelamin from RN Wedding and my house pelamin from Maszalina Butik.

On the last day, we came again in the late afternoon to meet with the Malaysian designer, Zery Zamry. We decided to custom made our Majlis Ambil-Ambilan's attire and my nikah dress but rent it under RN Wedding as 'baju baru'. This means we'll be the first one to wear. So excited!!! Just hope it will turn out well. For the nikah dress, initially I wanted to buy own materials and custom made but not rent. But on second thought, for that promotion  price and the design, it's worth to rent ZZ's (would love to buy but it's a bit pricey that I can't think of an event that I would wear it again. So I think it's better to rent instead). On the plus side, the package also includes veil, tudung, shoes and accessories. As for the Majlis Ambil-Ambilan's attire, we just wanted something different for this event.

Night time, we went to the BWS Closing Ceremony and had dinner with Aaron Aziz and wife. This was held at the Indera Samudera Grand Hall, the Empire Hotel. We got to see them for FREE!!! We had so much fun. It was a night to remember. We got to take pictures with them and had their autographs signed on the ticket. Oh, I also had autograph from Zery Zamry. =D

Happy Birthday Diyana Halik!

Their autographs

Such a sweet couple!!!
Overall, it was such a great experience for my fiance and I. Thankyou so much El Ricco and Songket Wedding for organising this Bliss Wedding Showcase. You guys did a great job. Well done!!!

Btw, I've updated my wedding checklist. Check it out!

Toodles ~ =))

Top Bridal Shoe Trends for 2012

Salam you alls.

It's been a week I didn't post anything on my blog.  Today I would like to share an article I came across. It's about "WEDDING SHOES" for 2012 B2Bs!

A wonderful wedding dress put on using a great pair of shoes. Agree? =)

Here's the article which I thought it's true.

2012 brides are chic, practical and budget-conscious. And when it comes to their wedding shoes they want an array of colors, styles and heel heights to choose from.  Women's Wear Daily interviewed folks from some of the top bridal accessories boutiques to find out what brides really want in their wedding day kicks. So these are their answers:

Versatility—2012 brides want to walk down the aisle in a pair of shoes they can wear again! Makes sense, doesn't it?! This practical desire is driving the colored shoe trend, and means more brides are searching for unique, non-traditional wedding shoe styles.

Jeweled Brooch Accents—Just check out our wedding shoe gallery to see this trend in action! Designers like Badgley Mischka offer swoon-worthy wedding shoes with dazzling brooch adornments on everything from peep-toe d'orsay pumps to kitten heeled slip ons. For brides seeking a more custom feel, bring an antique heirloom brooch into a reputable bridal boutique, and ask them to apply it to a simple pair of heels. If you buy the unadorned shoes from that boutique, they should do the brooch applique on the house.

Platforms—Brides tying the knot in 2012 are not afraid of sky high heels! Platform wedding shoes are more popular than ever, featuring gorgeous details like Swarovski crystals, textured rosettes and sheer, illusion fabric.

Bling, Bling—Crystals, rhinestones and sparkle, oh my! According to Kim Hall at Chicago's Left Bank, "Brides are gravitating toward crystal-embellished shoes and putting their own personal style on simpler designs." Shimmery metallics are still on-trend, with gilded golds, and dazzling silvers & pewters, dominating.

A Bold Touch—2012 brides are thinking beyond the white wedding shoe.  They're looking for styles that are semi-traditional, but with a funky, edgy pop.  Animal prints, jewel tones and avant-garde details are on-deck for 2012!

I'm so in love with this shoes!!! It has mostly the properties above. Versatile? Yes. Jeweled Brooch Accents? Yes. Bold Touch? Yes. Platform? Yes. The most important thing, it's SEXY!!! *drools*

Wedding Shoes by Aruna Seth

This costs 595 UK pounds. Approximately 1.2K Brunei dollars. *gulp* Wow!!! Where can i find this kind of shoes in Brunei with a reasonable price? Suggestions?

I already have shoes for most of my events. Lucky I bought them while I was in UK. I just need one more for my reception.

It's hard to find wedding shoes in Brunei. I might try to have a look on the platform shoes first. Wish me luck! I would love to try one. I prefer peep-toe, it's in trend right now. Final resort will be Shoe Lovers or Cest Moi. They don't have these platform shoes i think but they do have lots of blingy shoes. It's pretty and colourful. Price range? Not bad compared to 1.2K. Hehe. Best time to buy is during sale time. =)

Why choose "PLATFORM" wedding shoes?
The point of bridal platform shoes is to make your feet more comfortable since they won’t have to arch that high. Your feet won't hurts. Besides, it'll make you even taller.

Want something unique yet elegant? It's the stunning bridal wedge!!!

Something modern?

Which 2012 shoe trend is right up your alley?  What style of wedding shoes will you walk down the aisle in?

More on shoes next time, on the fabric perhaps? Bye.

Wedding Checklist

Salam peeps.

As promised, I've already done my wedding checklist but I'm not writing it in this post. I have added a page tab above where you can have a look at the checklist. Doing it this way will make it easier for me to update than constantly writing it in every posts.

That's all for now. *Tata*

Monday 26 March 2012

My First Post

Salam you guys. =)

Finally I'm writing my first post and finally I own myself a "wedding journal" blog! Yay!!! I've been wanting to make one for myself  since lastyear, only now I have the time and the mood to do so cos I'm running out of things to do. Apart from wedding preparations I mean. =P Honestly, I'm just plain lazy haha. I love to read bride-to-be blogs *oops stalker*, these help me a lot with my wedding preps. Frequent readings eventually inspired me to start my own wedding blog.

Ok, move on to my wedding preparations. Me and my fiance have started our surveys since August lastyear, wayyyy early huh??? The reason behind this is because we're getting married in the popular month of 2012 *not going to disclose our dates yet hehe* and we're afraid that if we didn't start our surveys early, everything will be booked especially the venue, the photographer and the videographer. The first few important things that crossed my mind that I thought need to be booked early.

I'll update more on my next post, perhaps on my "wedding checklist" of what have been settled and needs to be done. Less than 9 months to go! So stay tune for my next post!

Till then. *Toodles*
